HARRISBURG – Pa. – Pennsylvania College of Art & Design (PCA&D) and HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College, renewed and expanded an articulation agreement on July 10, 2019. The original agreement was signed in 2016.

Pennsylvania College of Art & Design welcomes Natalie Lascek as the Director of Continuing Education. For the past decade, Lascek has served as the Director of Admissions Marketing & Recruitment at PCA&D. Lascek joined PCA&D in 2000, where she worked in a multitude of positions as the College grew, including Marketing Assistant, Housing Coordinator, Admissions Counselor, Continuing Education Youth Coordinator, and Adjunct Instructor.

I'm Justin Phillips and I am a professor at PCA&D in the BFA degree program, specifically teaching in the College’s Foundation Department, and I am an instructor in the College’s Continuing Education program. I’m also a PCA&D alumnus, having graduated from the BFA program in fine art. I also received my MFA from Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts.

Eric Weeks is the Chair of our Photography Department. Eric first fell in love with photography at the age of sixteen. His high school photography teacher, Ken Ross, recognized his interest and helped obtain a full-tuition, four-year scholarship to attend art school in New York City. After receiving his BFA, he played bass in a rock band for a few years while exhibiting photography, and working as a commercial photographer and custom printer.

Meet Christina Hess, Chair of our Illustration department. Christina joined PCA&D in 2006 and has been teaching while running her freelance practice for over 20 years! Her work can be found on book covers, children’s books, magazines, products, and advertisements. She also has a running personal project called “Animals From History” that has been featured on ABCnews.com, Jezebel.com, MentalFloss.com, Juxtapose Magazine, ModernMet.com, etc.

Jeremy Waak is the Chair of Foundation at PCA&D. The foundation year, or first year, program is the basis for all students at Pennsylvania College of Art & Design. Courses are structured to teach you the fundamentals of art making allowing students to build their skills, techniques, knowledge of historical context, and critical thinking to support their work at every stage in their career.

New images from 90 photography students from here and South Korea have been added to the KIU-PCAD Photography Exchange Blog,   with the theme   ABUNDANCE.

See their answers at http://kiu-pcad.tumblr.com.  

Regularly, for the past seven years,  students at Kyungil University (KIU) in Daegu, South Korea, and Pennsylvania College of Art & Design in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, are asked an open-ended question that students at both institutions will then answer through photographs.
