 Jon Di Venti is not only the Chair of our Digital Media department in our Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) program, he is one of our own. Jon started his journey as a student at PCA&D (then the Pennsylvania School of Art & Design) where he graduated from our Illustration program, which at the time only offered students an Associates degree. Jon then moved on to Ringling College of Art & Design and obtained his BFA in Illustration.

Jeremy Waak is the Chair of Foundation at PCA&D. The foundation year, or first year, program is the basis for all students at Pennsylvania College of Art & Design. Courses are structured to teach you the fundamentals of art making allowing students to build their skills, techniques, knowledge of historical context, and critical thinking to support their work at every stage in their career.

PCA&D Photography Chair Eric Weeks recently exhibited his photography series “A Rose By Any Other Name” in Asia this past May. Solo exhibitions were held at The Selegie Arts Centre, The Photographic Society of Singapore in Singapore from May 19-28, and at Gallery 11 at Kyungil University (KIU) , Gyeongsan, South Korea from May 17-June 18. Weeks gave visiting artist lectures at both locations.

Eric Fowler has been documenting the everyday world through his paintings, as well as studying the field of American illustration, for over a quarter of a century.  Fowler, who has been teaching Illustration for two decades at PCA&D, brings his background into the classroom.

Fowler will be exhibiting his work “Edifice Rex” this May at the Red Raven Art Company, 138 N Prince Street, Lancaster.

Jon DiVenti, chair of PCA&D’s Digital Media Department, read the autobiography Between Heaven and the Real World by Steven Curtis Chapman,  one of Jon’s favorite musicians,  and was inspired to make a painting in an attempt to capture the personality of Chapman’s spirited youngest daughter Maria, who died in a tragic accident at age 5.
