The exhibition at the Main Gallery at PCA&D this summer features a selection of outstanding artwork created by our rising junior and senior BFA students. A wide variety of media are represented including digital and hand-painted works, illustration, sculpture, painting, printmaking, photography and graphic design. The exhibit opens Monday June 11 and runs through July 27.

Opening Reception: First Friday, July 6, 5 -8 p.m.

Pictures, top to bottom, the works of Maikue Lor, Karim Gavins, Melanie Vera, Naomi Hudnall, and Rainey Supple.

Digital media and interactive entertainment are the most pervasive and popular modes of connection, influence, and communication in today’s world. PCA&D students majoring in digital media receive introductory and advanced training in this integrative and technology-driven field.

Jon DiVenti, chair of PCA&D’s Digital Media Department, read the autobiography Between Heaven and the Real World by Steven Curtis Chapman,  one of Jon’s favorite musicians,  and was inspired to make a painting in an attempt to capture the personality of Chapman’s spirited youngest daughter Maria, who died in a tragic accident at age 5.
