Come join us at PCA&D!

All of these are open to the public and free of charge.

Gallery Exhibition, The Mosaic Project, Through October 30

The Mosaic Project exhibition features Robert Pruitt’s narrative portrait drawings exploring the complexity of black identity and Shadra Strickland’s painted illustrations that invite children and adults alike to ponder questions of contemporary and historical significance. Through their work, both artists explore themes of personal and cultural identity.

Panel Discussion -  International 24-Hour Comics DaySaturday, October 3, 12:00 noon - 1 p.m. 

A panel discussion will kick off PCA&D’s participation in the 2015 International 24-hour Comics Day. The panel will be discussing the changing role of, and attitude towards, comics in our society. The panel will consist of guest artists, including Robert Pruitt,  and PCA&D faculty members and industry artists Bob McLeod and Mike Hawthorne. (Following the Panel Discussion, PCA&D faculty members, alumni, and students from all departments, along with guest artists, take on the challenge to create full-length comics in 24 hours, from front cover to “The End” in 24 hours.) Hosted by the Illustration Department and PCAD’s  Society of Illustrators Student Group Chapter

Lancaster Art Walk, Shirt Printing in PCA&D’s Art Garden, Prince and Chestnut Streets, Saturday & Sunday, October 3 & 4

The public is invited to bring a light colored shirt or buy a shirt to have it screenprinted with a signature design by artist Becky Blosser. Free

Katerina Lanfranco is a NYC-based visual artist making paintings, drawings, sculptures and mixed media installations. She is also the founder and director of Rhombus Space, a gallery located in Red Hook, Brooklyn. Hosted by the Fine Art Department

Designathon provides real-world experience for students by matching them with non-profits in need of professional-quality design work. For 24 hours straight, dedicated students and faculty from PCA&D’s graphic design and illustration departments create marketing pieces, such as logos, websites, and brochures. PCAD_SeniorShow_088Exhibition: Senior Show and Celebration, May 6, 2016

At PCA&D’s 12th annual Senior Show & Celebration, the Class of 2016 fills five floors of the college with professional-level senior thesis projects in a variety of media. Many works are for sale. This is Lancaster's largest one-day gallery event by a single organization. Bring your family and friends to meet the artists, view their work, and enjoy live music, refreshments, and the celebratory spirit for which our Senior Show & Celebration is known. Show continues in the Main Gallery thorough May 28

Additional Artist Talks will be scheduled for the Spring Semester, including Photographer Christian Patterson and Artist Ethan Morrow. Dates TBD.

Open House Events are also scheduled for Saturday, March 19, 2016 and Friday, June 24, 2016
