Lexa_Hariss.jpgPCA&D Senior Lexus Harris will be exhibiting her work “A Look Into Small Town vs. City Living” on First Friday, April 1, 5:30-8:00 pm, at the Lancaster Public Library, 125 N Duke St, Lancaster PA.

Her exhibit contrasts watercolor portraits of individuals from Lititz and the City of Lancaster.

“The people depicted in these portraits are the people I passed on a daily basis. Through the process of creating their portraits, we came to know one another in a small way. This exhibit is dedicated to these people and the journey to explore the differences between the small town I grew up in and the city I am now living in.” – Lexus Harris

This project was inspired by the City of Lancaster's public art project "Lancaster Sound Map", which will be on view at the Visitor Center during May and June. Lexus grew up in Lititz. She is currently a senior Illustration major at the Pennsylvania College of Art & Design in Lancaster, PA, graduating in May 2016.

Lexus’s exhibit will be shown along with Candy Delaney ‘s exhibit "Abandoned Artistry," photography set in abandoned churches, schools, asylums, resorts, and other locations.

There will be an opportunity to meet the artists and enjoy light refreshments from 5:30 to 8 p.m., as well as to check out books, CDs and DVDs; browse the bookstore; and join in family activities. Both exhibits will remain on display throughout April. For more information, readers may visit http://www.lancaster.lib.pa.us.
