From Left to right: The work of PCA&D Illustration Seniors Caitlin Campagno, David Jamison, Luis Lopez-Lopez, Walker Banninger and Ron Springer
Last semester the senior illustration students in Bill Dussinger's Senior Studio class had the opportunity to work with American Music Theatre to design promotional posters for the AMT upcoming show, Songs of the Silver Screen.
Michael Rathfon, AMT's Director of Sales and Marketing, visited the class and presented the project to the students during class. Posters were to be designed with movie genres like Western, Musicals, Horror, Sci-Fi, Family, Mystery, Thriller, etc.
Michael took the artwork back to AMT where a group of the theatre staff had a difficult time choosing the ones they liked the best to showcase the show and the theatre. Five of the students' posters were chosen. Caitlin Campagno, David Jamison, Luis Lopez-Lopez, Walker Banninger and Ron Springer have had their work selected.
The show runs from May 1 to Oct 6, 2018. Plans are being made for the students to be recognized at the theatre and they will be given a monetary award.
According to Academic Dean Marc Torick, "The success of our students reflects positively on their commitment to concept, medium, and craft. This success, and many others, demonstrates the significance the college and faculty place on providing students with professional opportunities such as competitions, in-class client projects, and external community projects. These experiences deepen the ability of students to connect their work to a world of larger meaning and of greater opportunities."
Please join PCA&D in congratulating these talented students.
